The song is about someone you love who comes into your life like a hurricane, then disappears while you deal with the emotional devastation. The cycle repeats until you can't take it anymore and you have to let them go, dreading the conversation you'll eventually have to have explaining why. In the end, despite the difficult situation, the protagonist is empowered. It's part of what makes her who she is, which is a strong, confident woman who's not going to let that person drag her down anymore.
